The Comparative Analysis of Reported Cases of Breast Abscesses Associated with Lawsonella clevelandensis
Keywords:
Lawsonella clevelandensis, Breast Abscesses Anaerobe bacteriaAbstract
The reported cases of breast abscesses associated with Lawsonella clevelandensis highlight the clinical relevance of this rare and emerging anaerobic pathogen. Although uncommon, L. clevelandensis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of culture-negative abscesses, particularly when standard treatments fail. Diagnosis relies heavily on molecular techniques, especially 16S rRNA sequencing, due to the organism's fastidious nature and difficulty in cultivation.
